JOSE CARRASCO from Uruguay with his group LOS MAMBOS was formed in Amsterdam in 1982 since then the group keeps bringing its music all over the world from South America into Europe the States and Asia.
The Music of LOS MAMBOS finds its roots in Afro-Latin rythms (Salsa,Samba,Cumbia, Merengue and Candombe) Cuban music and Tango. The repertoire is made up of original compositions and songs written by other musicians.
On special occasions the group has played with guest stars: Tito Puente, Oscar D'Leon, Nicky Marrero, Gipsy Kings, Al Di Meola, Nana Vasconcellos, Dom Um Romao, Chocolate Armenteros other great musicians.
LOS MAMBOS plays at big festivals such as Montreux Jazz Festival, Festival Latino.
The magic of the rythm, the vocals, the arrangements and the improvisation go straight to the heart of the audience that loves to dance.
